I've put up a lot of great old Carnivorous Grass videos from May or June 1996 when we were in our prime! See Jim Kelly, Ryan Griffin, Jeff Mitchell, Dave Perdaris and I playing one of our best concerts. Lots of our old fans get camera time too.

I'm back from America, a few gigs on the horizon and the basic plans for the next CD are in the works, the goal is next spring but who knows what can happen...

It was fifteen years ago today that Jim Kelly and I had our very first gig as Carnivorous Grass! To commemorate the occasion we've started CarnivorousGrass.com to archive the history of the band. We spent a very productive afternoon in the recording studio last week and will have some new recordings up soon, and some videos of tonight's reunion concert will be up as well. Later on we will turn more of our older recordings digital and put them online as well. Keep checking the site for updates!

Today is also the eleventh anniversary of my second band, The Vetivers. Ben Champion and I formed this band on May 18, 1997, and we still do the occasional reunion gig as well. You can download both Vetivers CDs for free here!

Carnivorous Grass, my first band, is having a reunion gig! Jim Kelly will be in Ireland and we're going to play a short concert on May 18, 2008, fifteen years to the day of our very first gig together. I made a little myspace site for the band here and uploaded some songs from our only release, and I'll hopefully have some other music and some more old pictures up soon.

It's been kind of quiet here lately but I have been doing a lot behind the scenes. I've been busy in Paul Solecki Studios (otherwise known as college) recording a lot, and I've put a few new tracks up on the stupid myspace site if you'd like to have a listen.

Floating By is a nice new song and there's a good version of Need You Near, a song I played with The Great Egress. Both of these tracks have me playing all the instruments, and they somehow sound pretty good (the secret is to do at least 15,000 takes of the drums). There's also a mandolin instrumental I wrote and started recording last year called In the Wrong Place (fans of Two Time Polka might get the not so great joke) and my instant classic Wake Up Paul. I've got a lot more brand new songs written and somewhere in the recording process, and am thinking about putting out another CD in the next year or so...

As for live gigs, I'm still in the process of assembling the perfect cast, and hopefully will have an update soon, as well a possible big top secret reunion gig announcement...

My old friend Clyde "Sweet Balls" Kim has been busy as well, and he's just put an animated short up online that I think is great! Check out Part One and Part Two of Newer Mightier Ultimater Avengers! Can't wait to see good ol' Clyde this summer in California!
